What to expect, your first session:
Your first session is called a Diagnostic Assessment.
Your first session will be approximately 60 minutes long. The primary focus of the first session is to help me learn more about you and your goals for therapy, and for you to ask questions and learn how I conducts therapy sessions/my style in therapy. I understand that choosing a therapist is a personal decision and you needs to feel comfortable with your therapist.
private pay option: Private pay (paying for services out of pocket/ not using health insurance) is becoming more popular. This is for several reasons. First, Insurance companies are cutting mental health related benefits; you may have a deductible, paying out of pocket can be more cost effective. Second, private pay can provide you with peace of mind that your insurance company will not have access to your medical records, which include diagnosis , treatment plan or session notes.
